Gunplay discusses his legal issues and gives an update on when fans can expect his debut solo project.
Maybach Music Group affiliate Gunplay recently spoke with HHS1987’s E-Money to give fans an update on everything that has been going on with his career.
Between the release of footage
that resulted in Gunplay being charged with armed robbery and assault
coupled with his since deleted controversial tweets regarding the Sandy
Hook elementary school shooting, things haven't exactly been smooth for
the Florida rapper as of late.
Despite all of this, the rapper has kept a positive attitude while
still maintaining focus on his music, specifically his new mixtape Cops N Robbers. “It’s a compilation of my newest features, remixes, a couple unreleased records and some unreleased freestyles,” he said.
The mixtape, which has been delayed from January 8th to 18th, is a precursor to his Def Jam solo debut Medellin,
which he says will be released sometime this spring. When asked why he
decided to sign with Def Jam, the rapper cited loyalty as the main
factor.
“That’s where we got our start from.. so, I’m like a loyal dude, I
wouldn’t want to go nowhere else. I know the staff here, everybody knows
me. To go somewhere else would be wack.”
