Slug, Blueprint and Abstract Rude will
support the springtime full-length collaboration between respected vets
Illogic and Blockhead.
On April 16, two
Underground Hip Hop veterans will team for their first collaborative
outfit. Columbus, Ohio native and Greenhouse Effect alum Illogic will
team with longtime Ninja Tune artist and Aesop Rock producer Blockhead
for Capture The Sun. The album features Slug, Blueprint and
Abstract Rude, and will be released on Man Bites Dog Records. The album
was included in HipHopDX's Most Anticipated Albums Of 2013.
"The title, Capture The Sun, comes from something my grandmother
always told me: 'Things delayed are not things denied,'" said Illogic in
a press statement. "Things happen how and when they're supposed to; the
point is to go after your dreams no matter how out of reach they may
seem, no matter what road blocks may get in your way. Keep going; keep
moving."
The pair previously worked together on multiple songs through the
last decade, including two free EPs prior to the retail full-length. Preparing For Capture 1 & 2 are both available at Illogic's Bandcamp page.
